Anelia Brown: Building a Better Welcome for New Students

Anelia shares how interviewing classmates led her to build a website that helps new students find their way.

Anelia joined SIP because her teachers thought she'd be a great fit, and she came in with no idea what to expect. By interviewing classmates, she discovered that new students felt lost because information didn't flow well across campus. She built FCS Connect, a central website with an interactive campus map and directory, presented it to her school's board of directors, and completed it as her senior project.

In this episode, Anelia talks about uncovering a problem without asking loaded questions, presenting to her school's board, and where her persistence comes from.

Her advice: "People tell me no, and I find a yes."
